Three appointments, Sanderson Weatherall
Sanderson Weatherall, the commercial property consultancy, has appointed three new shareholding partners across its offices in the North East.
Kevin McGorie, Liz McLoughlin and Matthew Clarke are now shareholders of the independently owned company, bringing the total to 29.
Kevin, partner in Sanderson Weatherall’s agency team, has worked with the firm since 2006, when joined as a placement student. He specialises in advising on property acquisitions and disposals.
Liz McLoughlin is a partner in the company’s rating and compulsory purchase team. She joined in 2008 and specialises in advising acquiring authorities, developers and claimants on valuation and compulsory purchase associated with regeneration.
Matthew, head of Sanderson Weatherall’s Teesside office, joined the company in 2000 and is now a partner in its valuation team. He has more than 18 years of experience undertaking commercial and residential property valuation work for private clients.

Neil Westwick, Lichfields

The Newcastle office of planning and development consultancy Lichfields has promoted a director to senior director.
Neil Westwick joined the company’s London office in 2005 but returned to the North East, where he is from originally, seven years ago.
His experience spans a variety of projects, ranging from residential schemes for up to 4,500 units to commercial schemes for manufacturing and distribution.
Neil is currently advising property business Theakston Estates on a residential development north of Darlington.
He said: “Lichfields has gone from strength to strength both in the region and nationwide and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the fantastic work we continue to progress across the North East.”
James Fennell, chief executive of Lichfields, commented: “Neil is a real asset to the office.
“He has played a key role in securing planning permission for many regionally important schemes and adds real value to Lichfields’ planning offer in the North East.”
He added: “We are delighted to be able to recognise his outstanding efforts with this promotion to the position senior director.”
Vic Morgan, Master Debonair

Menswear retailer Master Debonair has appointed a new non-executive chairman.
Vic Morgan, managing director of ecommerce and digital marketing agency Venture Stream, has more than 25 years’ experience in retail, e-commerce and niche markets.
He is currently non-executive chairman of Newcastle-based digital studio Komodo Digital, prior to which he founded Ethical Superstore and served as non-executive director of The Pen Shop.
Simon Whitaker, CEO of Master Debonair, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Vic to the board at such an exciting time for Master Debonair.
“The business is growing faster than we had ever imagined and with Vic’s wealth of industry knowledge and experience he will be an asset as we continue to grow.”

Jennifer Nee, intu Metrocentre

Gateshead’s intu Metrocentre shopping complex has appointed a new marketing co-ordinator.
Jennifer Nee studied event management at Sunderland University and previously worked as a marketing assistant, then marketing co-ordinator, at intu Eldon Square in Newcastle.
Jennifer said: “It was a wrench to leave my colleagues in Newcastle, but the chance to work at Europe’s largest shopping and leisure destination was just too good an offer to turn down and ideal for my career development.
“I’m really enjoying working alongside a new team, planning and coordinating in-centre campaigns, promotions and events, and working with even more retailers to provide marketing support.”
Helen Atkinson, marketing manager at intu Metrocentre, commented: “At intu Metrocentre our marketing team is dedicated to creating compelling experiences for our shoppers – from exciting festivals and stylish student nights to our popular free Family Club activities and Metrognomes pantomimes.
