Grafene Fine Dining Awarded 2 AA Rosettes
The team at Grafene are celebrating, having just been awarded the prestigious Two AA Rosettes for the first time.
The Manchester fine-dining restaurant welcomed head chef Ben Mounsey only two months ago. With the launch of his new lunchtime British Tapas and fine-dining dinner menus, Ben has already made a significant impact on the region’s restaurant scene and has now successfully guided the restaurant to achieve this prominent culinary award.
Since Ben joined Grafene, the restaurant has gone from strength from strength with a relaxed, fine-dining offering that aims to reflect the chef’s view of modern British life. Ben’s primary aim is to ensure the menu avoids the obvious. It is infused with surprises, uses only the finest local and British ingredients, and whilst complex in their preparation, dishes are served with his purposeful simplicity.
Commenting on the award Ben Mounsey, said: “Being presented with the Two AA Rosettes so soon after joining Grafene is not something I take for granted. It’s a tribute to the whole team, who have worked tirelessly to ensure that my creative vision is executed perfectly in every dish we serve. It’s been a fantastic two months, and as we are already underway with testing our new summer dishes, more exciting food is to come.”
The Two AA Rosettes are awarded to the best restaurants which aim for and achieve higher standards, better consistency, greater precision is apparent in the cooking, and obvious attention to the selection of quality ingredients.
Paul Roden, owner of Grafene, added: “Ben has been a breath of fresh air. From the first moment I meet him, I knew he would bring something extra special to Grafene. We are delighted with the award. It’s not a cliché to say that it’s a real testament to all the hard work that Ben and the team have put in.”
British Tapas available all week noon-3pm and 5pm to 6.30pm. Dinner menu available from 6.30pm. For further information about Grafene, visit www.grafene.co.uk.
