Crewe’s Baywater Healthcare acquires Surrey-based sleep apnoea specialist

Healthtech business Baywater Healthcare has completed its acquisition of Intus Healthcare.

Based in Surrey, Intus is an online provider of therapeutic medical products and diagnostic studies for treating sleep disordered breathing.

The company supplies both private patients and NHS sleep clinics with equipment to help those with Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

Intus was founded more than 10 years ago by its managing director, Martin Heller.

Crewe-headquartered Baywater Healthcare said the transaction, completed for an undisclosed sum, was made as part of a drive to expand into the online private healthcare and sleep markets.

Baywater Healthcare CEO Adam Sullivan said: “I’ve known Martin for several years and admired how he has created a very successful business in this growing sector using his entrepreneurial flair.

“We look forward to working closely with the Intus team to continue the fantastic work they have done in delivering such impressive growth.”

Intus’ Martin Heller commented: “Baywater Healthcare was a natural fit for my business, the company possess very similar values to ours and are committed to developing innovative solutions for patients.

“People are now really starting to understand how important sleep is to maintaining good health and the treatment model we have developed over many years is perfectly positioned to support the increasing need for these services in the future.”

Baywater Healthcare was acquired earlier this year by French healthcare specialist Bastide Groupe. It supports more than 26,000 patients in the UK with its respiratory therapies and associated services.
