TeamSport prepares for launch of £1.5m Preston racing centre

Indoor karting company TeamSport is preparing to open a racing centre near Preston next week.

The Farnham-headquartered business has transformed a unit at the Walton Summit Centre, located in Bamber Bridge, into an indoor go-kart venue with three tracks.

The facility will feature two multi-level circuits that join to create a third 800m raceway.

TeamSport invested £1.5m to convert the space, which also includes meeting rooms for corporate team-building days and kids’ party rooms.

It will also boast spectator areas and a fully licensed snack bar.

TeamSport will open its doors at Bamber Bridge on Saturday, June 16.

Dominic Gaynor, TeamSport Karting MD, said; “We’re delighted to be opening our latest centre in Bamber Bridge, it’s a great location and is easy to access from both the city and surrounding motorways.

“The new team are really looking forward to welcoming race goers to the track.”

He continued: “We’ve a range of race events that caters for everyone, so whether you’re a karting newbie or promising F1 superstar there’s a race format perfect for you.

“We’ve also just launched our new Cadet Academy which offers tuition for kids aged 8-16 years to help develop them into advanced racers.”

TeamSport secured planning consent for the facility earlier this year, when it announced the creation of around 40 jobs.
