Northumberland firms collaborate to showcase region’s manufacturing skills and services
Six Northumberland businesses have teamed up to showcase the region’s manufacturing skills and services.
Advanced Barrier Coatings, Hindley Circuits, Falon Nameplates, North Eastern Composites, SWP Engineering and Scarab4 came together at the SubCon Show in Birmingham to highlight everything the region can offer the manufacturing supply chain.
Their exhibition space was funded and hosted by business support programme Business Northumberland.
Richard Wearmouth, chair of Arch, said: “By exhibiting together, we are able to demonstrate the diversity of Northumberland’s contribution to the manufacturing sector and showcase this to an international audience.
“We have a strong manufacturing sector in Northumberland and it’s great to see that illustrated through these six businesses.”
He added: “They all bring something different to the table and we want to encourage local businesses to collaborate and support each other wherever possible.”
Kenneth More, MD at Falon Nameplates, which operates a foundry in Bedlington, commented: “Attending this exhibition has given us exposure to a whole cross section of buyers. It has been an eye opening opportunity and not one that we would have undertaken without the support of Business Northumberland and the other five businesses.
“SubCon has not just given us a platform to showcase our products, but also an opportunity to network and build business relationships with other manufacturers who are based within Northumberland.”
He continued: “We are leaving the exhibition with over 20 leads to follow up on so we are really happy with what we have been able to achieve in three days.”
The SubCon Show was held at the Birmingham NEC.
