Local school children win set of wheels ahead of Bike to School week
Cycling to school or work could drastically cut air pollution and road congestion, and with around 95,000 children living in the London Borough of Barnet, The Broadwalk Centre in Edgware launched a special competition to encourage youngsters to bike to school by winning a brand new bike.
The centre is now delighted to announce that Sarah Dabrowska, Scarlett Hershkorn, Ben Lerch and Yehuda Lerch have all been chosen as winners.
In addition, Vasile Bandas from Edgware was chosen as the winner of The Broadwalk’s exclusive Facebook competition. His son, Teodor Vasile Bandas, age three, was lucky enough to receive a toddler’s bike and fun pack.
Over 200 entries were received, and the winners, chosen at random, were presented with their new bikes at The Broadwalk Centre on Saturday 16th June.
Angela Brooks, Centre Manager at The Broadwalk Centre, commented: “The launch of our ‘Bike to School’ competition was one of the many ways we are trying to help the local community with our ongoing ‘Love Your World’ initiative. With the warmer months ahead I hope the bikes provide hours of fun and also offer an alternative way in which families can travel to school.”
