Work underway on £1.4m ‘new generation’ workspace in Stockton

Work has started on a £1.4m project to deliver the next generation of office space in the Tees Valley.

Property investment firm Preston Cherry is transforming the Sheraton House and Infinity House buildings on Surtees Business Park, just off the A66 in Stockton, into Level Q.

Alongside its modern office suites, the three-storey scheme will feature a cafe, gym space and small cinema.

The site’s first floor will have offices set around a central social zone called The Village Green, featuring picnic-style benches and artificial grass.

In addition to traditional long-term leases, Preston Cherry said various levels of membership will be available at the overhauled premises, including hot desks and a new service called Level Q that offers boardroom space with state-of-the-art conferencing facilities, concierge, super-fast internet and free drinks, including wine.

Andy Preston of Preston Cherry, who is working alongside business partner Gareth Cherry to deliver Level Q, said: “There’s nothing like this on Teesside. Level Q will represent a new generation of workspace.

“There’s a big change in demand for offices right now. While demand for large offices in big buildings is on the slide, there’s an increasing interest in smaller offices in exciting workspaces with a real buzz.”

He continued: “Level Q will be a truly great place to work, get fit and meet like-minded people.”

“We’ve kept it all fairly hush-hush until now but we’re anticipating high demand as we fully expect Level Q to appeal to those who believe their working environment makes a real statement about their business and are willing to pay the going rate to have the best.”

Level Q will launch in the autumn, in the first part of a two-phase project. Full construction work will begin in July.
