Acquisition signals ‘major step forward’ for Middlesbrough training firm TTE

Training business TTE Technical Training Group has today (July 16) confirmed an agreement to acquire Peterlee-based Infinite Learning & Development (ILD).

TTE, based in Middlesbrough, said the deal will strengthen its position in the technical training industry, providing attractive growth and geographical reach opportunities for both businesses.

ILD was founded in 2010, employs eight staff and turns over around £500k.

Its work focuses on fabrication and welding, business improvement techniques and simulated working environments for clients including manufacturer Caterpillar, supermarket giant Asda and baking company Warburton’s.

Commenting on the acquisition, TTE managing director Steve Grant said: “Today we take another major step forward in delivering our strategy and we are thrilled to welcome ILD into the TTE family.

“The acquisition of ILD supports our vision to be the instinctive first choice for business and people transformation by delivering training that improves industry’s performance and enhances lives.”

He added: “This is a very positive and exciting acquisition for our employees, customers and everyone involved.”

Baldwins Accountants, part of CogitalGroup, advised TTE on the acquisition.

David Fish, Baldwins corporate finance director, commented: “This acquisition strengthens TTE’s offering to UK and international industry, while also increasing its geographic footprint in the North East.

“There are strong synergies between the two organisations that will benefit existing and new customers, here in the North East and further afield, which will be able to tap into a more comprehensive range of technical training services from TTE.”

A team from Tees Valley law firm Endeavour Partnership, led by senior associate Martin McKinnell, provided legal advice.

Martin said of the deal: “It was a pleasure to work with the team at TTE on this acquisition, which sees them further strengthen their offering for the benefit of both its existing and prospective customers.

“These are exciting times for TTE as it looks to further build on its already exceptional reputation.”
