Game, Set and Match for Markel UK competition winner
It was game set and match for lucky competition winner Steve Marshall, Director of insurance at broker Arthur J Gallagher this weekend. Steve beat off hundreds of entrants to win an exclusive Wimbledon experience of a lifetime which included exclusive Centre Court tickets for two, a private lunch with a tennis celebrity, luxury transfers and overnight accommodation in a luxurious 5* London hotel .
Markel UK launched the competition around its ‘Expect more’ positioning statement, offering thousands of brokers attending BIBA the chance of winning a ‘red chair’ experience. Entrants were invited to hop on to the Markel supersized red chair and asked to describe what ‘Expect more’ means to them from their insurance partner and to their clients.
Steve told Markel UK that to him, ‘Expect More’ means:
Game – always have your ‘game face’ by looking and acting professional at all times.
Set – ensure your business always ‘sets’ a high standard of regulatory compliance.
Match – do more than ‘match’ expectations by innovating, evolving & thriving.“
Justine Dignam, Director of Sector Propositions and Head of Marketing and Business Development National Markets, said:
“Our Expect more positioning statement is centred on how we want to engage with both our broker partners and policyholders. We believe in developing products, services and sector propositions that can offer significant value to the UK SME market. Our integrated propositions provide access to a broad range of services including insurance, tax, funding and consultancy services all providing relevant sector expertise to policyholders.
It was hard to choose a winner from all the entries we received but Steve’s entry perfectly summed up what he looks for in an insurance partner, whilst cleverly linking his answer to the prize on offer.“
The winning entrant, Steve Marshall, Director at Arthur J Gallagher, said:
“I had a fantastic day out enjoying the tennis, thanks to Markel UK. I’m pleased my entry hit the mark. We’re always looking at ways to strengthen and broaden the relationship we have with our clients and it’s important we work with an insurance partner that can help us do this.”
At BIBA 2018, Markel UK showcased its integrated proposition to brokers from across the UK which sees it offering a broad range of specialist insurance, tax and legal services to policyholders, as part of a solution which also includes crisis management and research and development funding advice.
