Doncaster junior football club receives kit boost
A Doncaster junior football team has kicked off the season in style following a donation for new training tops and equipment from a regional housebuilder.
Bessacarr FC u7s red team was given £500 by Persimmon Homes Yorkshire as part of its Community Champions scheme.
The volunteer run club, which trains at Cantley Park Doncaster, runs teams for reception through to under 18s. Persimmon Homes’ donation will benefit the club’s youngest players and will see the squad kitted out in hooded training tops.
Paul Tagg for the u7s team, said: “The team are delighted to be receiving new tops. Having a complete kit really is a great boost and helps makes them even more proud to be part of a team.
“We will also be using the spare money towards additional training equipment which will benefit the entire club. We are very grateful to Persimmon Homes.”
Kevin Thubron, sales director at Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said: “As a company that is bringing more than 900 new homes to Bessaccar, with our Warren Park development well under way, we believe it is important to support the local community where we can.
“If people were unsuccessful in their Community Champions application, we urge them to visit the Persimmon Homes website and to try again and hopefully they will become our next recipient.”
