Danielle Liversedge; Ewa Horbowska; Vincent Mullen; Sophie Boustead, Westray Recruitment Consultants

Westray Recruitment Consultants has expanded the team at its Gateshead HQ, by welcoming four new members to the team.

The new hires fill several roles across the business. Danielle Liversedge and Ewa Horbowska, have joined Westray’s industrial division as recruitment consultants. This is to help bolster the department’s capabilities due to new contract wins.

Commercial director, Ashleigh Wright, said: “We are delighted to have Ewa and Danielle join our industrial division, and I am confident that with the breadth of experience they have, they’ll both make a positive contribution and add value to the business.”

Securing the marketing executive role is Vincent Mullen. His role is to develop the marketing department at Westray and build on their already stellar brand.

Vincent added: “I’m extremely excited to have joined Westray during this period of growth. There is a real buzz in the office which comes from the drive to change the perception of the recruitment industry, by further improving our customer experience strategy.

“We aim to show everybody how recruitment really should be done by utilising new technology alongside ‘old school’ recruitment techniques, which we believe are still an important part of the overall process.”

They also welcome their new business administration apprentice, Sophie Boustead, who will provide support to the existing admin team, whilst developing her skills along the way and building on her recently acquired A-level qualifications.

Mollie Haley-Earnshaw, Vizulate Digital

Brighouse digital marketing agency, Vizulate Digital, has appointed Mollie Haley-Earnshaw as digital marketing business administrator following many new client wins.

Ms Earnshaw has joined the agency on a one-year placement from the University of Huddersfield where she is studying BA (Hons) Advertising and Marketing Communications.

She is to support the agency’s team with the research, planning and execution of digital marketing campaigns, including content creation, social media and email marketing.

Scott Brant, managing director at Vizulate Digital, said: “Mollie is a welcome addition to the team and will be key in providing support across various campaigns following our appointment by a number of significant new clients.

“We are delighted to welcome her to Vizulate.”

Recent client wins for the agency include nationwide ergonomic furniture specialist, VergoUK, which has appointed the team to design and deliver a bespoke digital marketing strategy to help boost the firm’s public sector foothold as part of its 2018 growth strategy.

Dom Middlemiss and Mihaela Brinza, ION Industries

Both a graduate and undergraduate recruitment scheme run by a growing tech firm has paid off for two students from Northumbria and Teesside universities, in the shape of full time jobs.

Northumbria University student, Dom Middlemiss and Teesside University graduate, Mihaela Brinza have joined the 16-strong team at ION Industries, after completing successful placements as part of their degree courses.

Gosforth-headquartered ION are experts in the world’s number one customer relationship management system (CRM) Salesforce, which connects organisations more closely with stakeholders, using the latest cloud and data science technology innovations.

Northumbria University final year student Dom, 22, has just finished the second year of a finance and investment management degree, combining his studies with a two-day-a week placement at ION.

He is now undertaking a full time placement as a Sage Financials technician.

He is joined by Romanian-born Mihaela, 23, who graduated from Teesside University with a computer science degree and initially did a three-month internship with ION.

Her new role will see her implementing and programming Salesforce, working within ION’s team of developers.

ION’s technical director John Huggins said: “We are delighted to welcome Dom and Mihaela to the business.

“Operating our own graduate and undergraduate recruitment scheme gives us access to a fantastic pool of talent right here on our doorstep, and benefits everyone involved.

“It gives the students the opportunity to combine studying with working, and gives them business experience and a foot on the career ladder at the same time.”

Adam Dymock, Watson Burton

Commercial law firm, Watson Burton has strengthened its Professions and Insurance team with the promotion of Adam Dymock.

Adam Dymock, who joined the Newcastle-based firm in 2016, has been promoted to associate in the professions and insurance team in recognition of his commitment and investment in the personal development of junior colleagues.

Listed as a Legal 500 recommended lawyer, Adam is described as ‘very clear and thorough’ by clients, which compliments the tier 1 ranking which has been held by the team for a number of years.

Commenting on his promotion, Adam said: “I’m delighted to have been promoted in recognition of the work I have been doing at Watson Burton.

“When I joined the firm, I was impressed by the quality of the work on offer. My previous experience of both Claimant and Defendant work has proven invaluable in achieving positive outcomes for the firm’s clients.

Dan Vecsey, Brewlab

Brewlab has appointed Dan Vecsey as senior manager as part of business growth plans.

Brewlab is a provider of training and analysis services for the international brewing industry, based in purpose built premises on the banks of the River Wear in Sunderland.

With experience in technical support and analysis, marketing and business strategy, Dan said: “I have always had a strong interest in the brewing industry being impressed by the open and collaborative nature of the sector, and the high levels of passion expressed by consumers.

“The brewing industry is very dynamic and in particular the micro-brewery and craft brewery level is fuelled by creativity and innovation.

“I am excited about joining the team at Brewlab and developing our capabilities and offerings to match the opportunities in this ever-changing industry.”

James Hewison, Malcolm Hollis

Independent commercial building consultancy firm, Malcolm Hollis has welcomed James Hewison to the Newcastle office.

Hewison has joined as part of the firm’s graduate recruitment program. He initially joined the Newcastle office in December for a placement and then joined the team permanently on March 1, 2018.

James is currently studying a Masters in building surveying and is due to submit his dissertation later this year.

Malcolm Hollis will welcome 27 graduates from 15 different locations across the UK and Ireland in the summer and autumn of 2018 and the spring of 2019.
