Hosking Associates Makes Series of Appointments to Continue Driving Growth
Hosking Associates, the health and safety specialist, is delighted to announce four new starters to its growing St Albans based team - as the company continues to go from strength to strength.
Claire Wood joins as a Chartered Safety and Health practitioner. Her goal is to add value and provide assurance through competent, pragmatic advice and guidance gained from a highly successful career working in sectors such as retail, property management, construction and environmental health. She comments:
“Health and safety is a diverse and fascinating field. I believe with the right support any organisation can achieve business-focussed solutions that will help health and safety flourish sustainably and economically.”
Tim Birkin began work doing heavy earthmoving as an apprentice mechanic, then working with the supply and transportation of chemicals to industry and later spending 12 years in the hazardous waste industry. Now moving from employment as SHEQ Advisor to a CCTV installation and maintenance company he is joining Hosking Associates as a Safety and Health Practitioner
In business support, Katie Medd, a versatile brand and marketing professional, is lending her creative thinking and project management skills to reach out to organisations looking to make safety & health a brand differentiator for their business.
Louise Hosking, founder and director of Hosking Associates, adds:
“My 27 years in the industry have shown me that building strong, trusting relationships with our customers is the best way to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of businesses and their employees. This is not possible without the commitment and creativity of dedicated professionals - health and safety is about looking for solutions, not problems, and we do it with personality which would be impossible without a dynamic team!
We are hoping to spread this message to a new generation and get them involved with the positive effect that this profession can have on a wide range of industries.“
As part of the expansion, Holly Dumsday has been on a summer internship at Hosking Associates, providing valuable assistance to the support crew so they can be with their families over the summer. After her placement she will be moving into her third year studying a BSc in Geography at the University of Nottingham. She comments on her experience to date:
“Louise Hosking has acted as a mentor to me, providing advice on ways to kick-start my future career. I have been inspired by her motivation and positive ethics she stands by as she manages her company. I never realised health and safety could be so fascinating.”
