Mobile Mini receives £700k investment following major growth
Mobile Mini, a hirer of portable site accommodation and secure storage containers, has relocated and expanded its local branch in Sunderland.
The move is the result of an investment of almost £700k, after a period of growth within the North East for the company, which has 15 branches nationwide, including a Teesside branch in Middlesbrough and its UK headquarters in Stockton-on-Tees.
Having outgrown its original site due to a significant surge in demand for its services over recent years, Mobile Mini’s new branch aims to offer its customers the likes of quicker turnaround times and greater product availability.
Housed on a four-acre site, the new branch, on Hepworth Road in North Hylton, consists of modern office units for employees to work from, two workshops with equipment, and space for its growing fleet of storage containers, site accommodation units and delivery vehicles.
All 15 employees have been relocated from the original site and will enjoy the benefits of a new, modern workspace.
“Everyone is delighted with the new branch, as the office employees have brand new offices to work in and the yard have brand new workshops, enabling them to work more efficiently and effectively,” said Simon Gray, Mobile Mini’s North East Branch Manager.
“It really is a great place to work and you can see everyone loves coming to work each day. This move really has helped to increase employee engagement levels.”
Investment in its branch infrastructure is a key priority for the company, and this latest move comes on the back of significant upgrades to its South Wales, London, West Yorkshire and Thames Valley branches over the last 12 months.
The relocation of its North East branch follows Mobile Mini’s acquisition of Gateshead-based competitor Containers 2000 at the end of 2016, which gave the company the opportunity to strengthen its existing container hire and sales business, as well as extending its presence in key non-construction markets such as retail, hospitality and education.
Managing director, Chris Morgan, concluded: “These are exciting times at Mobile Mini, as we go through this period of growth and investment, whilst still striving to maintain our reputation for exceeding our customers’ expectations.
“We are currently reviewing our facilities in a number of branches to ensure they are able to support our growth plans and we expect that to lead to further branch relocations in the future.”
