Essex motor parts distributor opens its first ever Bristol base

Essex-headquartered Motor Parts Direct has set up its first Bristol base at Horizon 38 - a mixed-use redevelopment scheme - following a new letting brokered by JLL.

After the recent opening of the new Selco Builders Warehouse and the letting of unit G4a to LSI Workplace at Horizon 38, motor parts distributor Motor Parts Direct has moved into unit G3b.

Henry de Teissier, senior surveyor at JLL, said: “Off the back of the recent opening of Selco and the letting of G4a, it’s great to see another business moving in.

“Horizon 38 has established itself as the prime location for industrial and logistics occupiers in north Bristol. It currently offers the only new build space in north Bristol and has a range of sizes to suit a wide variety of occupiers.”

This is the first Bristol site for the national parts distributor. Unit G3b is part of the two light industrial terraces, the latest phase to complete at Horizon 38.

Gareth Williams, development director at St Francis Group, added: “Horizon 38 is the first major speculative scheme in Bristol for a generation. It provides much needed new build industrial space to a supply starved but strategically important location.

“It’s great to see a national occupier like Motor Parts Direct taking occupation of the new space and I wish them every success in their trading here.”

The development, a joint venture between St Francis Group and iSec, comprises prime industrial and logistics space, from 4,500 sq ft - 115,500 sq ft constructed on the former Rolls-Royce Eastworks site.

The scheme benefits from excellent transport links, with the A38 linking direct to J.16 of the M5 and the national motorway network.
