Premier Huddersfield development set to create 'hundreds of jobs' for region
Planning has been submitted to transform a premier gateway site in Huddersfield into a mixed-use development, creating hundreds of sustainable jobs for the town.
Developers, Trinity One LLP are regenerating the 6.1 acre former campus of Kirklees College on New North Road.
Tas Javed, managing partner of Trinity One, said: “We are completely committed to Trinity West, one of the most exciting developments to be undertaken in Huddersfield in recent years.
“We have been working very closely with Kirklees Council to create an exciting mixed-use gateway scheme for Huddersfield. Our detailed plans for the scheme are now completed and a planning application for the entire development has been submitted to the council.
“Kirklees Council have been very supportive of our plans throughout this process. Our scheme will create sustainable jobs and provide a timely and serious boost to the Kirklees economy.”
Kirklees Metropolitan Council will consider Trinity One’s Trinity West development plans shortly.
Mike Dove, of Leeds-based property consultants Dove Haigh Phillips, who are advising Trinity One, added: “This prestigious site occupies a commanding gateway position overlooking the town centre.
“It provides a tremendous opportunity for a first-class mixed-use redevelopment, which will revitalise the town’s economy. The 342,000 sq ft site, which includes the old Grade 2-listed hospital building, has immense potential.”
