Used car dealer and building control firm expand at York’s Escrick Business Park
A used car dealer and a national building control services provider have expanded at Escrick Business Park in York.
DG Dale & Son, run by brothers Nick and James Dale, has grown its footprint on the development to almost 9,000 sq ft by signing a deal on an additional 1,860 sq ft warehouse.
The company relocated to Escrick Business Park from Crockey Hill in 2014 and initially leased 4,850 sq ft across two units. In addition to selling used cars, the firm operates a repair, MOT and service centre.
DG Dale & Son’s new space will serve as a paint and body shop.
Elsewhere at Escrick Business Park, Darlington firm Aedis signed a one-year lease on a 675 sq ft office that will serve as its Yorkshire HQ. The company works with builders, developers, homeowners and architects throughout the UK.
Escrick Business Park was created by developer S Harrison.
Phil Hill, of S Harrison, said: “DG Dale & Son has been one of Escrick Business Park’s major success stories.
“Nick and James initially took advantage of our flexible terms, which enabled them to lease a unit before deciding to buy and in the last four years the company has almost doubled its footprint as it has continued growing.”
He continued: “We’re also delighted to welcome Aedis to Escrick Business Park. The company was attracted by the site’s rural location, combined with easy access to the national motorway network and ultrafast fibre broadband.
“As a result of these latest deals, all our warehouse space is now occupied and we have a small number of office units still available that we’re already talking to several businesses about.”
DG Dale & Son’s Nick Dale commented: “This new warehouse will enable us to significantly increase the amount of accident repair and body shop work we take on and means we’re currently expanding our team, with plans to create several new jobs over the coming months.
“The flexibility at Escrick Business Park has really suited us and gives us a fantastic base in a modern environment to embark on our next phase of growth.”
Yorkshire law firm Langleys Solicitors advised S Harrison on the deal with D G Dale & Son.
Emma Warner, commercial property partner at Langleys, said: “We are pleased to support S Harrison in its continued success at Escrick Business Park where companies like D G Dale & Son are able to realise their growth ambitions.”
