National Grid relocates premises to Crossgates House in Leeds
Acting on behalf of Praxis Real Estate Management Ltd, Carter Towler has just let the fourth floor of Crossgates House to National Grid.
Commenting on the deal, Carter Towler’s senior surveyor Philip Shopland-Reed, said: “National Grid is moving a significant proportion of its Leeds-based operation from Thorpe Park to Crossgates House.
“They have agreed a five-year lease on 5,880 sq ft of the recently refurbished building and we are delighted to have secured such a high quality tenant for our client.”
National Grid manages the UK’s electricity transmission network. It will have over 50 staff based at Crossgates House.
Richard Harrison, asset manager at Praxis Real Estate Management, added: “Attracting a FTSE 100 company like National Grid to Crossgates House is a real coup, and further justifies the landlord’s decision to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of the building.”
Carter Towler is one of the largest independent firms of property consultants in the North of England and is acknowledged as one of the most commercially active.
In the past 12 months, it has been involved in over 300 deals and currently manages over 2,000 properties for its clients nationwide.
GVA director, Jill Goodman, concluded: “Our client National Grid has completed the transaction to a tight time frame and has secured office space at Crossgates House along with a high car parking ratio.”
