Doncaster frozen foods logistics firm bolsters growth following six-figure HSBC funding

Fenwick Haulage, a Doncaster-based specialist frozen and chilled foods logistics company, is set to expand following a six-figure funding boost from HSBC UK.

The firm, which has been providing single and multi-drop deliveries across the country since 1986, has used the funding package to purchase a 2.5-acre site which neighbours its head office in Adwick le Street, Doncaster.

The site will be developed into a new office and warehouse facility, allowing Fenwick Haulage to move out of its current rented office space. Work on the site is expected to start in 2019.

Dave Ward, managing director of Fenwick Haulage, said: “We began banking with HSBC UK two years ago and were impressed with its understanding of our needs as a growing business.

“When we started to explore the idea of expanding our premises, the team at HSBC were on hand to provide insight, advice and guidance every step of the way and, of course, the commercial mortgage to buy the new site.

“As a team, we are excited to continue along this upward trajectory and take Fenwick Haulage into the next 30 years.”

The firm aims to expand its team by up to 20 people through its growth plans, and increase turnover by six per cent within the next year.

Rebecca Pearce, HSBC UK’s relationship director for South Yorkshire, added: “Fenwick Haulage has a strong track record in the industry which it has honed over many years, specifically within frozen and chilled goods logistics, to build a company that is trusted and respected nationwide.

“These deep-rooted foundations have meant repeat business and long-term contracts for the company which have enabled it to invest and expand, as it is doing, to future-proof itself over the coming years.”

Fenwick Haulage transports non-perishable and perishable goods, including frozen and chilled foods, as well as pharmaceutical supplies and automotive vehicles to customers in all corners of the country.
