Entrepreneurial duo bring cookie dough concept to Camden Market
Cookie dough concept Naked Dough has opened its third outlet on Camden Lock.
The company, founded in March 2017 by pastry chef Jen Henry and marketing manager Hannah Adams, brought its headcount to 20 with a launch at The Stables in Camden Market.
Jen and Hannah joined NatWest’s Entrepreneur Accelerator Programme, formerly known as Entrepreneurial Spark, in August last year after opening their first pop-up at Old Street Station.
With funding from the bank, the duo opened two permanent stores at Westfield London and Lakeside shopping centres along with pop-ups around the capital.
Naked Dough’s turnover has since grown 125% to £500k.
The Camden Market store will offer Naked Dough’s eight cookie dough flavours and a range of shakes, ice cream cones and tubs.
Jen said: “Being around like-minded entrepreneurs and having access to support and advice from the programme’s mentors and finance experts was the perfect start we needed.
“The funding we secured from NatWest enabled us to launch our first permanent Naked Dough store and continue to expand across London.”
She continued: “The positive feedback from customers has been amazing. Our plan is to build on this success and the dream would be to have a Naked Dough in every major UK city.”
NatWest business growth enabler Sharad Verma commented: “Our accelerator programme has had a significant impact on Jen and Hannah’s business and the success they have had with their Naked Dough brand has been phenomenal.”
Naked Dough also received support from NatWest entrepreneur development manager Chris Kettle and relationship manager Parveen Virdee.
