£10m speculative scheme brings over 50 jobs to Wakefield

Marshall CDP has just completed phase three of its £10m industrial development at South Kirkby, Wakefield, bringing over 50 jobs to the area.

The latest three units of this speculative scheme which first commenced in 2014 were completed earlier this month.

Five new properties have been built totalling over 104,850 sq ft on the 11 acre site adjacent to the new A628 and just minutes from the A1, A1(M) and M62 motorway network.

Commenting on the development, Carter Towler’s surveyor, Hazel Cooper, said: “Marshall [CDP has] done an excellent job, everything has been completed on time, to budget and the standard of construction is excellent.

“These units have the added benefit of being located within the Wakefield Enterprise Zone and therefore come with considerable financial incentives.

“The first two companies to move onto the business park, shredding company PHS Data Solutions and commercial vehicle converters VFS, are settling in well and we are sure the remaining three units which measure 13,600, 10,000 and 11,500 sq ft will also soon be occupied.

“Together, the businesses here will create many new job opportunities and that in turn will have a very positive impact on the local economy, VFS alone has already taken on over 50 new employees.”
