Growth continues at Middlesbrough marketing agency Mabo with 10 new recruits

A digital marketing agency in Middlesbrough has moved into a bigger office and created jobs as part of a three-year expansion strategy.

Pay-per-click (PPC) specialist Mabo announced plans in the summer to grow its team from 25 to 40 employees by the end of 2018.

Since relocating to a new 6,000 sq ft office at the Albert North development in Middlesbrough city centre, the company has added 10 senior staff to its team.

Mabo plans to recruit another five before January and 60 more over the next three years.

The firm’s marketing director, James Lees, said: “We’ve had some big local contract wins recently which coincided with our expansion to larger offices.

“We need to ensure, as we win more business, that we can continue to provide our award-winning service.”

He continued: “We’ve brought in a number of key personnel which have increased our capacity, so we’re now in a position where we can take on bigger accounts on a more regular basis, which will support our growth plans.

“So it has already been a hugely encouraging year for Mabo, with more good news to come.”

Newcomers to Mabo include brand manager Laura Jackson, marketing and events manager Scarlett Reeves, head of development Peter Calvert, senior PPC account manager Gary Murphy and senior digital consultant Chris McDonald.

Mabo was founded in 2013 by managing director Lee Mableson.
