Energy Angels saves more than £25m for landlords and residents
Against a backdrop of rising energy prices and a shortage of homes, void property management specialists Energy Angels has saved landlords and households more than £25 million, boosted housing stock availability and helped tackle fuel poverty.
Since it launched twelve years ago, the Wolverhampton-based company has partnered with an ever-growing roster of landlords and social housing providers to provide its free and innovative service to bring empty properties back into use with some 140,000 being made available for occupancy quickly and efficiently.
The company works to shorten the time that a property is not delivering rental income for landlords whilst also providing support and advice on energy usage for residents and an online switching service which has saved thousands of households an estimated £300 a year.
Lewis Taylor, founder and Managing Director of Energy Angels, said:
“Tackling homelessness and fuel poverty are the key drivers behind Energy Angels. With housing demand consistently out-stripping supply, it’s vital to get empty properties turned around and available for new residents as quickly as possible. This not only protects the rental income stream for landlords but it also provides much needed homes for families. These are the very reasons we set up Energy Angels in the first place. We have a robust and proven process that really delivers results and is proving increasingly attractive to housing organisations.
“When we started nearly twelve years ago there were only a handful of energy suppliers in the UK and whilst the Big Six continue to dominate the market, the growth in independent energy suppliers means there is now a much wider choice for residents. Whilst a much wider choice can sometimes cause confusion, especially for vulnerable households, Energy Angels helps to simplify the energy switching process for families from the day they move in and right throughout their tenancies.”
Energy Angels specialises in providing energy services for the social housing sector and currently works with more than 35 registered providers, including Flagship Homes, The WM Housing Group and Gateshead Housing.
