Belgravia’s Goring hotel invests in new seafood restaurant
The Goring hotel in Belgravia is building a new seafood restaurant with a West Country vibe.
Sitting alongside the family-owned venue’s flagship restaurant The Dining Room, the new eatery will be a more casual space focussed on Cornish produce.
To spearhead the project, The Goring is bringing in professional chef Nathan Outlaw, who runs his own two Michelin star restaurant in Port Isaac.
Jeremy Goring, hotel chief executive, said: “Some of the best seafood in the world comes from the pristine waters around Cornwall.
“We’re looking forward to bringing this West Country treasure to London, with the help of Nathan Outlaw, who has been a friend of the Goring family’s extensive Cornish branch for many years.”
The restaurant, offering views onto The Goring’s secluded garden area, will be housed within an orangery to link its indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the year.
London-based interiors firm Russell Sage is overseeing the architecture and design on the project.
Jeremy continued: “We’re building an eccentric, uplifting space with the help of some very special craftsmen and designers, and the restaurant will be all about simplicity on the plate, freshness, and our usual heartfelt British service.”
Commenting on the new venue, Nathan Outlaw said: “Creating a new restaurant with such an iconic British hotel is a huge highlight in my career. I can’t wait to get cooking!”
The new restaurant will open in late Spring 2019.
