Shaping Futures opens latest yoga and pilates studios in Durham and Newcastle
Following a significant personal investment, Shaping Futures has opened a new pilates and wellbeing centre in Durham, and a pilates studio in Newcastle.
The new centre, which is said to be the first of its kind in the North East, uses Gratz Classical Pilates equipment to offer participates a full range of pilates mat and equipment classes, together with yoga and spin classes and one-on-one private instruction.
The centre also has an on-site nutritionist and sport therapy masseur.
Shaping Futures has been operating in Durham since 2005 and has built an excellent reputation for offering a range of high-end classic pilates mat and equipment classes, alongside their legendary cardio classes that strengthen, heal and tone the whole body.
Leila Bramwell, owner of Shaping Futures, also specialises in helping people with back pain, hypermobility problems and rehabilitation requirements.
The move to the new premises in Belmont, is said to allow the company to expand the number of classes and private instruction offered and to further develop the back clinic.
A significant part of the investment has been spent on bringing in state-of-the-art Gratz Classical Pilates equipment, which allows classes to be taken to another level.
Leila Bramwell said: “Since I started teaching individual client pilates in my own home, I have always wanted to open a state-of-the-art pilates centre.
“Over the past decade, I have undertaken numerous contemporary courses, all over the world and now I am comprehensively trained in classical (the true method) as to ensure I am the best possible teacher for my clients.
“Seeing the impact our classes and private sessions have had on people who have not been able to work for months due to back problems and living in misery with pain, has driven me forward, to make sure I could open this centre.”
The Durham centre offers Classical Pilates mat classes for all abilities, as well as Pilates Reformer, MVE Chair and Tower that add resistance to strengthen the body. Yoga and mindfulness classes are also available as well as spin.
In Newcastle, Shaping Futures has set up a new studio in Hoults Yard as many of its Durham clients live or work in the city. The new studio offers a range of pilates, reformer and yoga, as well as private instruction centred to fit around busy work schedules.
