Carter Towler acquires three city centre properties in Leeds

Carter Towler has completed three property purchases in a popular Leeds area, on behalf of its client Yorkshire Prosperity Limited (YPL).

The Leeds-based student property company has just purchased Malham House, 25-27 Hyde Terrace and, in 2018, Southfield House, Clarendon Road and Springfield Mount, 19 Springfield Road.

The 10,933 sq ft Malham House was purchased off a guide price of £1.1m, while 5,891 sq ft Southfield House was purchased off a guide price of £650k.

The 9,653 sq ft Springfield Mount went from a guide price of £1.05m. All three properties were bought with vacant possession.

Commenting on the deals, Carter Towler, director David Towler, said: “I am so thrilled that we were successful for our client. We had to move swiftly and decisively to conclude these purchases; there was a lot of competition.

“These substantial properties, two of which are detached and Grade II listed, represent a significant investment for YPL who are widely regarded as the leading provider of student accommodation in the region.

“Whilst all three are ideal for conversion, both Malham House and Springfield Mount offer further development opportunities.

“It is also pleasing to see YPL acquiring properties in this area of the city again as this is where we first assisted them with establishing their property portfolio in the city 10 years ago.”

In the past 12 months, Carter Towler has been involved in over 300 deals and currently manages in excess of 3,000 properties.
