Alnwick business continues international expansion with latest supply chain deal
A Northumberland firm whose software is said to be revolutionising the manufacturing processes of global businesses.
MSP counts three Formula 1 teams among its high-profile client base, and has won work from another well-known company.
It has delivered time and cost savings to Australia’s Quickstep Technologies, through the use of two of its flagship software products: NC-Checker and NC-PerfectPart.
By adopting MSP’s technology, Quickstep - Australia’s biggest independent aerospace-grade composites manufacturer, which works across the world with the likes of BAE Systems PLC and Boeing Defense - has seen its parts setup time halved, rework reduced by 75 per cent.
Peter Hammond, who founded MSP alongside Tony Brown, having both worked in the manufacturing sector and being frustrated by its inefficiencies, said the team are happy that their work is having a ‘positive impact’.
He said: “It is fantastic we are achieving such outcomes for Quickstep Technologies, and the vast reductions in times we have seen here are another example of the positive effect our products can have on a manufacturing business, whichever area they may operate in.
“We build such close relationships with our clients, so we can fully understand their way of operating and the results they want us to deliver, that we would consider many of them friends.
“We invest the time and resources to get to the root of the issue and our results speak for themselves. To save 9.5 hours on setup time in an industry like Formula 1, where innovation and speed is everything, is just one example of what our software can do.”
Quickstep has also committed to using the Alnwick firm’s products as standard in key areas of its operation. MSP’s work with Quickstep is the latest in a series of international commissions for the firm.
Tony, co-founder of MSP, added: “While we have built a global client base, and continue to win work around the world, we are committed to our North East roots and plan to push on with our plans to expand and create more jobs here.
“It always gives us great pride to tell our clients, whether they’re in Australia like Quickstep or wherever they are in the world, that this software which is revolutionising their whole process is being developed by a small company based in Northumberland.”
