Carter Jonas brings residential development opportunity to York

Carter Jonas, the national property consultancy, has brought a freehold residential development opportunity in the village of Kirk Hammerton near York to market on behalf of the landowner.

The 2.8-acre site to the south of Station Road is included in the emerging Local Plan and has a draft allocation for around 30 dwellings.

Kirk Hammerton is a rural village that benefits from amenities including a Church of England primary school, restaurant, petrol station and grocery store.

Steven Soper, senior surveyor at Carter Jonas said: “The site can be considered a sustainable addition to the village of Kirk Hammerton and would add to the existing housing stock provided within the village.

“The landowner is looking to enter into Development Agreement with a suitable partner to promote the site for development and submit a planning application.”

The nearby village of Green Hammerton houses the local surgery, village pub and another primary school.

Kirk Hammerton is situated in the vale of York circa 10 miles west of the city and 12 miles east of Harrogate.
