Tolent signs new £9.4m contract to build over 60 County Durham homes
Tolent has signed a new contract with Chapter Homes, which will deliver 67 new homes at Oakerside Drive, Peterlee.
The £9.4m scheme received planning consent in December 2018 and will provide a total of 67 quality new family homes.
The layout of the site builds on Chapter Homes’ ethos to provide not only an exceptional place for people to live but also ensures the development forms an integral part of the community.
Attention has been spent on ensuring green space, landscaping, great use of materials and through a well designed scheme will make this development popular with new and existing residents alike.
Overall, the proposed scheme provides a high quality development in a very popular location with good links to local facilities. The proposed scheme has a clear identity and is sympathetic in density, scale and style to the surrounding context.
Pre-commencement activities are progressing well with a start on site imminent. Show homes will offer prospective buyers with a chance to see the finished product in Winter 2019 with the first plots available for occupation in late 2019.
Richard Roddam, development director at Chapter Homes, said: “We can’t wait to get started on our second development of new homes, building on Chapter Homes’ continued success and firmly positioning itself as a quality house builder within County Durham.
“We are delighted to be working again with Tolent and bring to market some much needed, high quality, family homes to this fantastic area.”
The project is the second to be completed in the partnership between Tolent and Chapter Homes, following the success of Eden Field, which is currently delivering 143 units in nearby Newton Aycliffe.
Works are nearing completion on-site with only 16 properties remaining.
