LJ Real Estate Advisors rebrands as Kinrise ahead of expansion plans
Award-winning property investment firm LJ Real Estate Advisors has announced that it has rebranded as Kinrise.
The company, which specialises in the revitalisation of historic and iconic buildings, has conceptualised its new name based on themes of community, collaboration and sustainable growth – three pillars of its ethos as a business.
The brand identity places emphasis on creativity, culture, restoration and shared space, all of which are vital principles to the company’s founding partners. Kinrise currently operates in Manchester and Leeds and the founders have shared the business’ growth strategy for 2019. There are plans to expand into additional regions such as Birmingham, Bristol, and London.
Samuel Lawson Johnston, co-founder at Kinrise, said: “Our business starts and ends with a focus on serving people – whether our tenant businesses, local community partners, investment partners or our team.
“Our vision is to contribute to the rise and inclusive growth of UK cities, creating spaces and ventures that engage with local communities and support diversified economic development. In 2019, we will be extending our portfolio to further cities as part of our long-term investment programme.
“The business has gone from strength to strength over the years with six buildings now in the portfolio, and we are incredibly excited to enter into this next phase as Kinrise.”
The business was established in 2015, that same year successfully transforming a collection of historic buildings around Albert Square in Manchester which now make up The Albert Estate.
Next followed the renovation of one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings, Canada House, which is now fully let and home to 35 companies; a social enterprise café; events space; co-working space; a gym and a swimming pool.
Following an inspiring art residency and 6-month cultural programme, 34 Boar Lane next to Leeds train station is now being refurbished and will provide 56,000 sq. ft. of design-led office space, restaurants and retail.
In its present-day iteration, Kinrise is currently hosting over 45 tenant businesses – from start-ups to multi-nationals – on lease commitments between one month and 25 years, across six historic buildings.
George Haddo, co-founder of the company added: “We choose cities to operate in based on a number of factors: cities that have the right economic, market, political and social dynamics, and where there is a lack of quality workspace – but also cities with real prestige, power, soul and history; cities which have always been central to the UK’s identity and are home to creativity, culture and community spirit.”
