RADA business expands with courses in Manchester and London

A range of professional development courses have been launched by RADA Business, the commercial arm of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

The courses will take place in Manchester, working with delegates at each stage of their career to equip them with the skills and techniques to communicate with authenticity and impact.

The courses will focus on a range of themes including personal impact, presenting, leadership, and the challenges facing women in business - all created to cater for a range of career levels and needs.

Personal Impact is a one-day course that teaches those at every stage of their career to perform with more gravitas and impact through the foundations of human communication - body, breath and voice.

By the end of the day, delegates will be able to communicate with clients and colleagues more effectively, leading to stronger and more successful working relationships.

There is also a two-day course that looks at how to accomplish the most from face-to-face communication in a range of settings and develops an understanding of how you come across and how others relate to you in the workplace.

A professional role-play actor joins the group on the second day to bring to life challenging scenarios so that participants can practise how to impress in one-to-one conversations, or in the boardroom.

Courses that develop presenting skills are also a focus for RADA Business over the coming months. Presenting Made Brilliant is a practical one-day course for those who need to become a powerful and confident public speaker.

This course encourages delegates to take risks, push themselves and maximise impact when communicating in highly pressured environments. It takes the focus away from what you present, and instead focuses on how you present.

Courses are also available in London, such as the presenting course, Voice of Influence. This teaches trainees to become dynamic, influential communicators, by practicing advanced voice techniques.

Participants learn how to apply these techniques to a short presentation or topic of their choosing, gaining detailed feedback from an expert tutor, and from peers with a similar level of experience.

Finally, a two-tiered senior leadership programme for both men and women is available.

Katie Lightfoot, open courses and tutor manager at RADA Business, said: “We’re delighted to offer these courses, specifically tailored to women in business, future senior leaders, and those at every stage of their career.

“We have worked for well over a decade to overcome the common challenges employees often face in the corporate world.

“Our aim is to equip them with the skills they need to make sure they are heard, own their space, and have the impact they desire to be the best and most authentic version of themselves at work.

“Our regional expansion to Manchester means that we are now able to introduce our work to a wider audience.”
