Business advisory firm, Deloitte has strengthened its corporate finance team in Yorkshire with the promotion of Matt Cheetham to director in its Leeds office.
Matt has been with Deloitte for eight years, having joined in 2010 from the corporate finance team of Brewin Dolphin (now N+1 Singer), where he had been part of its graduate programme.
As a corporate finance specialist, Matt has advised on a range of private equity transactions, corporate disposals, IPOs, high yield issues and re-financings.
He has also worked extensively with management teams around their strategies and developing options for growth.
He said: “I really enjoy the diversity of businesses I am fortunate to work with, from young, fast-growing businesses to larger, leading regional companies where we can help with long-term growth plans or realising value for shareholders.”
Justin Krebs, Haith Group

Justin joined the designer and manufacturer of vegetable handling equipment this month to oversee the company’s production line.
With over 30 years of engineering experience spanning production planning and management, engineering, quality control and project management, Justin started his career as a machinist before joining a bearings manufacturer.
Nigel Haith, managing director of Haith, added: “Our company has grown significantly over the last few years, and we are now dealing some of the largest food producers in the world as well as many farmers and growers across the UK and around the world.
“To ensure our success continues, we must maintain our high standards and exceptional customer service. By creating the role of operations manager, Justin will play a key role in this and act as the magnet that pulls all of our departments together.”
Lindsay Ramsden, Women in Property
Women in Property has announced its new Yorkshire and North East chairman.
Lindsay said: “Over the coming year, as an organisation, we will be focusing our attention on the skills shortage that is already evident and which will be exacerbated in a post-Brexit Britain.
“This means getting into schools to talk about how great it is working in this industry, the variety and the opportunities out there. Inspiring children at a young age is particularly important.
“The industry must also retain women already working in the built environment sector, who might be struggling with anything from a lack of flexibility in their working hours, through to needing advice on being more ‘visible’, for their own career development.”
Ben Mitton, The Technology Group
Leeds-based The Technology Group has appointed former mergers and acquisitions advisor and PwC auditor Ben Mitton to the board of directors.
Ben joins the fast-growing Leeds firm as chief financial officer, working alongside the six current board directors to deliver the company’s ambitious growth plans.
An ACA qualified Chartered Accountant, Ben spent four years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in London leading audit teams for private and listed clients.
Ben Mitton added: “This is a very exciting time to be joining a dynamic, ambitious and fast-growing business.
“There is a strong leadership team in place, and I’m looking forward to working alongside that team and with external stakeholders to help drive the next phase of growth.
“I’m also looking forward to being back in my home county. Having grown up in Harrogate, I’ve always had an affinity for Yorkshire, and it’s moving forward at a pace. It’s great to be working somewhere that has so much going on.”
