Annnabelle Lawrence launches stunning new swimwear line to solve her tall girl problems
Annabelle Lawrence, the fashion designing powerhouse from Manchester, has launched her very own swimwear line after struggling to find the perfect fit for her tall frame.
The 24-year-old half English, half Belgian businesswoman, started making bespoke swimwear for herself before embarking on a backpacking trip around Australia after graduating from UCLAN with a First Class degree in fashion design.
After receiving endless compliments on her unique pieces, Annabelle decided to make her swimwear design a full time job, and she’s never looked back.
Annabelle Lawrence, the newest and coolest swimwear emerging on the fashion market, is both handmade and tailor-made by herself to ensure that all customers can wear their bikinis or one pieces with confidence.
With an array of impressive experience in her back pocket including making the national final of the Sophie Hallette university design challenge who went on to sponsor Annabelle’s graduate collection with the best lace in the industry (the same lace used on the Duchess of Cambridge’s McQueen wedding dress), being one of the elite few to be selected to represent her university at Graduate Fashion Week, and working at London-based Greek designer Mary Katrantzou, Annabelle is ready to take the swimwear industry by storm ahead of summer 2019.
Annabelle also has a spectacular background in dancing after training since she was just two years old. She went on to represent England in Ballroom and Latin competitions including The Internationals, The Closed British Championships and the world famous British Open, otherwise known as Blackpool Dance Festival where she took to the floor with Curtis Pritchard - the brother of Strictly Professional AJ Pritchard.
The keen dancer has fond memories of making her stage outfits with her mum and grandmother, which sparked her initial interest in designing.
During her time at Mary Katrantzou, Annabelle was renowned around the atelier as the “stoning guru” and was asked to teach everyone how to apply Swarovski crystals just as she’d done in the ballroom dance world for the designer’s collection for London Fashion Week AW16.
Commenting on her new range, Annabelle said: “I wanted to create pieces that were fashion forward, and make women feel confident classy and sassy - but also really wearable. Girls shouldn’t have to choose between being pool party ready or catching a great tan, I want them to feel comfortable in my designs at all times.
“I know myself as a tall girl how frustrating it can be to spot the perfect bikini or swimsuit and find that as soon as you put it on it doesn’t fit properly. It can be really disheartening and makes you feel insecure about your body. I want each and every one of my customers to feel like my creations fit them in all of the right places.
“I’m delighted with the response that I’ve received so far and can’t wait to mark the official launch of Annabelle Lawrence with a party showcasing my designs on the catwalk at the end of March.”
