Birstall based digital marketing agency extends its E-commerce offering to challenge Shopify
Birstall based digital agency Ascensor is becoming Yorkshire’s answer to the mainstream online retail solutions such as Magento and Shopify, with its e-commerce website offering.
Ascensor has already supported hundreds of small businesses across the Yorkshire region and beyond with its innovative, template-driven product, Air Websites. Air: E-commerce, launched last year, was the next phase in its development and clients are thrilled with the approach.
‘Working with Ascensor is an absolute pleasure, our website is very easy to use and we get great feedback from our clients. I would highly recommend them,’ said Kathryn Wright, Director, Perfect Personalised Gifts.
Ascensor launched Air: E-commerce in 2018 to give retail businesses a high specification, entry-level E-commerce solution, that was affordable and 100% owned by the client.
Unlike Shopify that has limitations in customisation and can be slow in its performance, Air: E-commerce has been designed to be lightweight and completely flexible. Not only that, once the website is developed, the client owns the website code, and they can be self-hosted; which means more control for the business owner.
These entry-level websites are developed to be mobile first and they are already connected to Google Shopping as standard meaning the client can start marketing straight away.
‘We speak to a lot of people who have tried to build their own site using solutions such as Shopify and they often end up frustrated with a site that is not of a good enough commercial standard to represent their business and generate sales,’ said Andrew Firth, Managing Director of Ascensor.
‘We want to support businesses to compete and thrive in what is an ever-changing landscape of digital technology. Air websites give them the chance to own a commercially viable and professional website that is also affordable.’
The sleek templates are suitable for all sectors, and Ascensor has developed websites for fashion, industrial and luxury goods retail stores. The sites include everything a small business needs to grow a successful online retail business, they take around four weeks to build.
Firth added: ‘At Ascensor, we are constantly keeping up to date with the latest changes in technology and continue to innovate so that we can bring the best possible solutions to our clients. My advice to clients: spend as a little as you can on a quality website and save the rest of your investment for driving traffic through marketing.’
