Opus Trust Communications, the multi-channel communications expert based in Leicester, has secured a new contract with the General Medical Council (GMC) to run for the next three years.
The GMC, with a history dating back to 1858, helps protect patients and improve UK medical education and practice by supporting students, doctors, educators and healthcare providers.
With daily requirements to generate, dispatch, track, copy and report more than 90 different types of document on various paper stocks and across both traditional and digital channels, the GMC needed a supplier that has the experience and infrastructure in place to manage the contract.
Opus Trust Communications manages the process from print to pick and pack through to distribution, data storage and beyond. More than 1,600 documents are despatched per day and up to 90,000 during peak periods.
With a secure manufacturing and data site, with ISO certifications including ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22301 and ISO/IEC27001, Opus Trust Communications was able to meet the criteria confirming that the necessary processes and procedures for data compliance, security and storage were in place and constantly reviewed and audited.

“Not only is this further testament to the great team we have here and to the hard work and dedication of all of our staff but also to our ability to meet the business-critical needs of our customers.
“The world is changing and with that so does the way we interact. This new contract with the GMC is further evidence that we have the experience to manage more traditional paper communications, whilst also having the skills and knowledge to advise our clients on future digital needs.”
Alan Paget, the GMC’s Head of Planning, Performance and Change, comments: “We have worked with Opus Trust Communications for 18 years and following an extensive tender process, we are very pleased to announce our continued partnership. We are looking forward to working with them and developing our relationship further.”
