BGF Yorkshire tops £10,000 in Three Peaks Challenge
BGF’s Leeds team have taken on Yorkshire’s Three Peaks to raise more than £10,000 for Variety.
The team completed the 12-hour gruelling challenge last week for the charity which supports sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the Yorkshire region.
Head of the Yorkshire & North East office, Richard Taylor joined colleagues Barry Jackson, Chris Boyes, Mark Rigby, Rob Johnson, Sophie Brand and Jess Rushton to climb 1,600m, covering more than 26 miles in the Yorkshire Dales.
The challenge saw the team raise more than £10,000 which will be assigned to applicants of equipment grants that are urgently required to ease the burden of looking after a child who is seriously ill or disabled.
Richard Taylor said: “We’re proud of our Yorkshire base and BGF’s commitment to the regions so we wanted to find a challenge we could pull together for as a team in Leeds and raise some funds for a fantastic local cause. The Yorkshire Three Peaks felt like the perfect choice. After a few months of training, the team tackled the hills with determination and raised an impressive total for Variety.”
BGF is the most active and influential investor in small and mid-sized businesses in the UK. It acts as a minority, non-controlling equity partner with a patient outlook, based on sharing long-term goals with the management teams it backs.
