Two new businesses join central Leeds creative hub

A former flax factory-turned-office development in the centre of Leeds has welcomed two new businesses.

Digital advertising software provider Flashtalking and creative agency StormBrands have both joined Marshall’s Mill and Round Foundry.

The lettings, which were facilitated by Creative Space Management acting as joint agents with Knight Frank, will see both firms take space in the Grade II mill complex which is part of the South Bank redevelopment programme.

StormBrands, which also has offices in Hong Kong and London, is relocating from its current Yorkshire office in Elland to the city centre in order to be part of a growing creative hub.

Bruce Drinkwater, CEO at StormBrands, explained: “Many exciting organisations are relocating to Leeds. It felt like the right time for us to be immersed in the buzz and positive energy of this Northern powerhouse city.”

Flashtalking, which has global offices in the US, UK, Europe and Australia, has also taken space in the development which also houses a range of design, media and PR firms.

Duren Dexter, managing director of technology at Flashtalking commented: “We are very happy to be located in Marshalls Mill and enjoy being fully involved with the tight knit Leeds technology community which continues to be one of the fastest growing in the country.”

The Grade II mill complex is increasingly an attractive place to work for creative and digital organisations, with easy access to the town centre and situated just a few minutes’ walk from Leeds station. It is also situated in the hub of the South Bank redevelopment programme.

Paul Taylor of Creative Space Management added: “It’s fantastic to see these three TMT occupiers committing to Marshall’s Mill, in the heart of an established community of creative and digital businesses which we are sure will be of benefit to them.”
