Starbucks expands delivery partnership with popular Uber Eats service

Starbucks has expanded its delivery service Starbucks Delivers across London and 11 other UK cities today (September 17).

This is in partnership with Uber Eats, with the expansion having started with Manchester and Glasgow becoming the latest UK cities to introduce Starbucks Delivers, with an additional nine cities following suit this month.

Starbucks Delivers is Starbucks tailored coffee delivery programme, developed to ensure quality and convenience at every stage of the order’s journey.

Following a successful trial of Starbucks Delivers in select London stores earlier this year, Starbucks and Uber Eats is now expanding the service to customers across the country.

Toussaint Wattinne, general manager of Uber Eats UK and Ireland, said: “After the success of our pilot in London, we are really excited to expand our partnership with Starbucks across the United Kingdom.

“Our customers are huge Starbucks fans, and love being able to get their favourite items delivered with Uber Eats.

“Whether you want a morning coffee at home or afternoon pick-me-up at the office, ordering is as easy as requesting a ride, all at the touch of a button in the Uber Eats app.”

With Starbucks Delivers, Starbucks is using one of the nation’s largest delivery apps, while reaching customers beyond those who already include Starbucks as part of their morning or afternoon routines. Customers will be able to access Starbucks Delivers through the Uber Eats app.

Alex Rayner, general manager of Starbucks UK, said: “At Starbucks, we are committed to offering an unmatched customer experience. Part of this is finding new and easy ways to bring the Starbucks Experience to those who are unable to visit us in-store.

“We want to meet customers where they are, and through our partnership with Uber Eats, we have made a significant investment in technology and product innovation which means that connecting with Starbucks is just a click away.”

Starbucks and Uber Eats have used the London pilot to gather insights and feedback from partners (employees) and customers via the Uber Eats platform. This has helped to refine and improve the customer experience, with a better understanding of the growing mobile and on-demand economy, enabling a quick expansion of Starbucks Delivers to other UK cities.

Starbucks Delivers will be available in Manchester and Glasgow (from today), with Leeds, Leicester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen to follow in the coming months.
