Jayne Young, Bramley Baths

A community-led leisure facility in Leeds has appointed a new chief executive to lead it into the next stage of its development.

Jayne Young is the new chief executive at historic Bramley Baths in Leeds.

Ms Young arrives from the National Coalmining Museum near Wakefield, where she worked for 13 years. She joins the successful social enterprise, which employs more than 40 staff, as it looks to invest in its historic building.

She said: “I am thrilled to join the fantastic team here at Bramley Baths – it really does live up to its reputation for being the ‘friendliest baths’.

“The staff here have been so welcoming and I’ve been really impressed by their professionalism, loyalty and commitment.

“Bramley Baths really is a special place and a hub for the community; a place where people can learn to swim, keep fit and stay healthy but also a place where people can connect with others and feel they belong.”

Lindsay Kohler, scarlettabbott

York-based Internal communications consultancy scarlettabbott continues to grow with the appointment of Lead Behavioural Scientist Lindsay Kohler.

Kohler, who previously supported employee engagement for some of Silicon Valley’s largest tech companies and held senior roles at Segal Benz and Nordstom, will bring her strategic insight to the agency’s portfolio of global clients.

Kohler’s expertise, which lie in the application of behavioural economics to improve employee engagement, aligns with scarlettabbott’s mission to underpin internal communications with robust scientific understanding and measurable impact.

This academic shift is fundamentally important, explained Kohler: “The role of internal communications is vital for driving organisational change but for too long in many businesses, the IC function has struggled to get beyond the perception of a post room.

“Deep scientific understanding of what motivates people to act combined with internal communications best practices is the key to unlocking real and sustainable change that transforms employee engagement and, in turn, the bottom line.”

Chris Allen, managing partner at Blacks Solicitors, said: “We are committed to recruiting quality trainees so that our clients can benefit from their talent and commitment.
