New vegan and vegetarian concept set to launch in Peckham

A new restaurant concept specialising in vegan and vegetarian cuisine is set to open in South London this autumn.

Bistro-style vegan and vegetarian establishment Naïfs is due to open its doors in Peckham next month.

Situated at a 750 sq ft site on 56 Goldsmith Road, the eatery will focus on using simple vegetarian and vegan ingredients to create an array of dishes with an emphasis on seasonal produce and sustainability with suppliers.

A family-run venture, Naïfs will be led by a team which includes ex-Vanilla Black chef Tom Heale, his partner Anne Stokes and his two brothers Max and Finn.

Front of house manager Anne Stokes commented: “This will be a welcoming, family run, neighbourhood restaurant. We all come from Cornwall which has given us a love of laid-back food environments and been responsible for us all pursuing careers in hospitality.

“The word naïfs is an old French word which means naive and conjures the spirit of this project for us. It is about newness and greenness, as a metaphor for new growth and of doing things your way and not being constrained by formality.”

Real estate specialist CDG Leisure secured the historic community address on behalf of the restaurant.

Tom Crosthwaite at CDG Leisure added: “This is the perfect location for Naïfs which will fit right in to the unique leisure offering in Peckham, as well as providing a breath of fresh air into London’s culinary scene.”
