This week's Yorkshire appointments

Chadwick Lawrence has recently made two new appointments, following the firm looking to develop talent internally and continue to strengthen its wills and probate service offering.

Ellie Hirst has joined Yorkshires Legal People as a paralegal and Rochelle Newson, who is now a qualified solicitor, will both work primarily in the wills and probate department.

Ellie, joined Chadwick Lawrence in May 2019, having achieved a distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law and her postgraduate academic degree Master of Laws.

Since joining the firm as a Paralegal, Ellie has been based in the Horbury and Wakefield offices and hopes to continue developing her skills within the Chadwick Lawrence environment and the firms successful training initiatives.

Rochelle Newson joined Chadwick Lawrence in 2012, regularly undertaking work experience and showing a keen interest in many areas of law. She joined the firm on a full-time basis in 2015 as a Paralegal and has gone on to complete her training contract.

She has now been appointed as a solicitor in the wills and probate department.

Heather Clark-Coates, Easy Bathrooms

Bathroom retailer Easy Bathrooms has appointed Heather Clark-Coates as HR advisor in a newly-created role.

The move comes on the back of 12 months of rapid expansion, which have seen Easy Bathrooms open ten new showrooms and develop its headcount by 58 per cent, from 145 to 230. The ensuing 12 months are set to continue at the same pace of growth.

Bringing eight years of HR experience, Heather formerly worked as a HR manager within the hospitality industry, including The Queens Hotel in Leeds.

Speaking about her new role, she said: “I’m thrilled to be part of a growing business. Easy Bathrooms came very highly recommended by one of their staff members who I had previously worked with - she couldn’t praise the company enough.

“In my first couple of weeks, I can see for myself that the business’ ethos is outstanding. As well as supporting recruitment, I’ll also be working with the store managers, with the aim of forging a ‘people’ culture - which is so important for a growing organisation.”

Avison Young

Property advisor Avison Young has appointed five new members to its Leeds office.

Jay Rutter has joined the property management team with extensive experience in the discipline, having previously worked at Ryden, Broadgate Estates/British Land and Eddisons.

Dominic Knowles and Rachel Foster have both joined the team as surveyors. Dominic will strengthen the lease advisory and investment teams, whilst Rachel has joined the land and development department, covering sites across the North East.

Noah Knapton and Michael Page have also been appointed as graduate surveyors to the restructuring solutions and building consultancy teams respectively.

Jon Zoltie, CCBox

Leeds-based developer of customer experience solutions CCBox has expanded its team with the appointment of a new business development manager.

Bringing along years of experience driving new product development and enhancements, Jon Zoltie joins the team to work on several projects centred around the company’s CCBox Aloha product.

In addition, he will be responsible for dealing with increased demand for the packaged solution through the partner network, whilst also owning the future of the product in terms of enhancement and upgrades.

Jon said: “I’ve always had a technical interest in IT and comms and so I’m extremely excited to join a forward-thinking tech company.

“With BrightCloud Group doubling in size within 12 months it’s a really exciting time to join and I’m looking forward to being part of the future!”

Olivia Robinson, R3

Insolvency lawyer Olivia Robinson has been appointed as the Yorkshire vice chair of the insolvency and restructuring trade body R3.

In her new role, Olivia will work alongside the current Yorkshire chair Eleanor Temple, a barrister at Kings Chambers, and the R3 Yorkshire Committee to raise the profile of R3 and its hundreds of members and supporters in the region.

Olivia added: “Given the current political and economic turbulence, now more than ever businesses need professional advisers they can trust to help them through difficult times.

“I am proud to take on this role, working with Eleanor and the Yorkshire committee to champion the insolvency profession and ensure that businesses in the region are aware of the positive work done by our members in helping to save businesses and jobs.

“We are fortunate in Yorkshire to have a strong professional community with expert technical knowledge and vast experience of insolvency matters. We urge businesses to turn to our members at the first signs of financial trouble when the most options will be open to them.”
