£5m industrial scheme at historic Leeds mill site reaches completion

The development of a new £5m industrial scheme on a historic site in Leeds has been completed.

Triton Construction has completed the development of the 65,000 sq ft industrial scheme on the Wortley Low Mills estate.

Leeds developer and investor J Pullan & Sons acquired the site on Whitehall Road in 2017, before contracting Triton to prepare the site for its £5m development plan.

Known as Whitehall Point, the site comprises three purpose-built warehouse units of 13,600 sq ft, 31,600 sq ft and 20,000 sq ft at the former woollen mill and dye works.

Ian Chapman of Triton Construction commented: “We are pleased to complete our second project with J Pullan & Sons with a successful handover.

“This development was challenging due to the ground conditions and necessary works for site access but we were still able to work with the pre-let tenant to provide early access for fit out.”

Bruce Strachan, property director at J Pullan & Sons, added:, “Having worked with Triton Construction as main contractor on the construction of a new DPD Depot at Howley Park, Morley we were pleased to work with the team again on the Whitehall Point project.

“The ground conditions have made for a challenging site but Triton worked with us diligently and delivered a quality product.

“MKM Builders Merchants has taken occupation and are delighted and we are now dealing with strong interest for the two remaining speculative units.”
