Cal Kilpatrick, Nebula Labs
Newcastle-based software house Nebula Labs has taken on a new member of the team.
Nebula Labs, set up in August 2017 by young entrepreneurs Dylan McKee and Nic Flynn, have delivered a variety of solutions, including Gym Plan plus an event app with AI integration and a tourism destination management system.
The latest team member is Cal Kilpatrick who is the new business development manager, and will be developing relationships and opportunities.
Cal, who previously worked closely with over 100 of the North-East’s most ambitious companies in his previous role at Digital Union, said: “I am really excited about taking up this opportunity with Nebula Labs.
“Having watched their growth over the past couple of years, I know that this is a company that is growing fast and has a fantastic reputation in the industry.
“I’m looking forward to joining such an innovative, enthusiastic and friendly team and helping the company expand and grow in the future.”
Ian Porritt, Adam Preston, Nathan Sanderson and Faith Chipuriro, honcho
Car insurance app honcho has appointed three new developers and a tech intern to its cohort.
Ian Porritt, Adam Preston and Nathan Sanderson have joined plus tech intern Faith Chipuriro.
Frank Speight, honcho’s commercial director, said: “Some of our new members are seasoned hands with deep domain knowledge and expertise, whilst others are just starting out on their career paths.
“We think they will be a great cultural fit in terms of the honcho tribe. They have a willingness to embrace a bit of chaos and uncertainty and have the passion and a commitment to the cause.
“They also have courage - the courage to think differently, the courage to wrestle with complexity, and the courage to do things with great speed whilst being uber-adaptable.”
Jack Brown, Mobile Mini
Manchester Metropolitan University graduate has taken his first step to a career in operations management at container and accommodation suppliers Mobile Mini.
As graduate operations manager, Jack - from Nottingham - will study all aspects of the site operations and will build on his learning and development working across the various departments in the office and the yard alongside participating in branch, regional and national meetings for Mobile Mini.
He said: “Studying has helped me to learn how business processes work but training schemes such as these are invaluable to graduates as we see get to see the ‘real world’.
“The role being semi practical means I am able to get ‘hands-on’ - not just working in the office but being able to get my hands dirty in the yard and that really appealed to me!”
Carol Logan, Activ Technology
Newcastle-based Activ Technology, has appointed Carol Logan as business development manager.
Carol, who is based in Carlisle, joins from The Ramsay Partnership, where she was responsible for business development and client account management. Her new role will focus on growing the business across Carlisle and Glasgow.
Activ Technology, which employs over 30 people, is a managed service provider for IT and telecommunications. It has offices in Newcastle and Dumfries.
Carol said: “I am delighted to join the team at Activ Technology. Having worked at The Ramsay Partnership as a business development specialist and at Atlas Communications prior to that, the opportunity to help grow Activ Technology between Carlisle and Glasgow, was something I could not turn down.
“Activ Technology is a forward-thinking company and I want to really make my mark and utilise the contacts I have to grow the business. There is huge potential to make an impact across the two regions.
“I have a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to telecommunications and IT and it was very much an area I wanted to return to. I am looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
