Harrogate building transformed into multi-million pound residential complex

A building in the North Yorkshire town of Harrogate has undergone a multi-million pound conversion into an apartment complex.

Berkeley House, situated at the southern end of the Victorian spa town, has been transformed into 11 luxury apartments.

As well as converting the existing four-storey building, a new three-storey extension has been constructed in the former car park and gardens, in addition to a feature link block between the two buildings.

Construction firm Barnfield worked on the project in collaboration with project manager Linchpin Ltd to redevelop the building, which has already seen some of its properties sold ahead of completion.

Ian Summersgill of Linchpin Ltd commented: “Despite having to operate within very challenging and restrictive site conditions…the building and apartments were finished to a very high quality and specification, with both the old and the new essentially blending into one extraordinarily attractive building.

“The quality and image of this building project recognises and reflects the area, and high end market expectations, and it is a testament to the quality of this scheme - and Barnfield’s workmanship - that six of the 11 apartments were pre-sold prior to completion.”
