Leeds retail and leisure destination kicks off 2020 by welcoming new eateries
Leeds retail and leisure destination the Merrion Centre has built on its 2019 success with the announcement of new tenants.
The centre, which is situated in the heart of the city’s Arena Quarter, has confirmed several new venues for 2020 after celebrating a ‘triumphant’ year.
In 2019, the Merrion Centre saw a 6.69 per cent visitor increase compared with the previous year, welcoming nearly 150,000 visitors.
Owned by Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS), the centre is set to welcome brands such as pizzeria Dominos and Asian supermarket Hang Sing Hong, which will launch two restaurants on Wade Lane and Merrion Way.
Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive of TCS, commented: “We are extremely proud of our accomplishments at the Merrion Centre in 2019.
“With an abundance of new student accommodation set to open right on our doorstep in the Arena Quarter, we look forward to introducing even more customers to our diverse mix of shopping and leisure destinations.
“As we step into 2020, we are confident our latest tenant announcements, coupled with our ongoing regular calendar of experiential events, will continue to enhance customer experience as we further evolve our offering to provide even more places to shop, eat, drink and ‘be Merrion’ in the heart of Leeds”.
