200 Degrees Cardiff shortlisted for Café of the Year
200 Degrees Cardiff has been shortlisted for ‘Café of the Year’ in the prestigious 2020 Cardiff Life Awards.
Celebrating the best of what the city has to offer, the Cardiff Life Awards has categories in a range of industries such as arts, hospitality, business, charity and education, with the Café of the Year award celebrating the finest cafes in the capital.
Based on Queen Street since 2017 and the first 200 Degrees coffee shop outside of England, Cardiff employs 12 members of staff, and is also home to the company’s in-store roaster – which allows approximately one tonne of fresh coffee to be roasted at the premises each year, which is supplied to a multitude of businesses across Wales, including the iconic Cardiff Castle.
Winners for the Cardiff Life Awards will be announced at a black-tie event on 19 March at the prestigious City Hall, with 450 guests expected to attend the annual celebration.
Tom Vincent, managing director of 200 Degrees said: “We’re thrilled that our Cardiff shop has been shortlisted for Café of the Year. Our team work very hard to offer a unique experience for customers with our hand roasted coffee, fresh food menu and barista training courses available each day.
“We always strive to become an extension of the communities in which our coffee shops are located, and we have a very loyal customer base in Wales for which we are very grateful. We wish the fantastically dedicated Cardiff team the best of the luck in these awards – they deserve it!”
The Cardiff coffee shop is one of 11 ‘distinctively independent’ coffee shops in the 200 Degrees Coffee group, as well as its roast house near Trent Bridge in Nottingham which was established by Tom and his business partner Rob Darby in 2012. The company continues to grow with new shop openings and the supplying of its beans and machines to even more businesses across Wales planned for 2020.
