Phone charging company plugs in to German market with help of Jägermeister
A London power company is expanding into Germany with the help of a German drinks brand.
ChargedUp is a phone charging network that provides charging stations in social spaces such as bars, restaurants and shopping centres.
The company, which currently has stations in nearly 2000 venues in the UK, is taking its first step overseas with the installation of 800 stations in bars and restaurants.
It has teamed up with drinks brand Jägermeister, which is the distributor of the charging stations in Germany, with ChargedUp venues also receiving Jägermeister advertising materials.
Lukas Ciosanski, team leader of customer marketing on trade at Jägermeister Germany, commented: “More and more consumers are choosing venues that offer charging points for their smartphones.
“No one wants to go out to celebrate and run out of juice before the night has finished.
“Venues offering a ChargedUp charging point and power-bank, alongside great food and drink, provide their guests with another solid reason to pop in and stay all evening.
“The bottom line is that the ChargedUp Box on the counter helps keep customers in the shop longer.”
Hugo Tilmouth, founder of ChargedUp, added: “The collaboration between Jägermeister and ChargedUp is a natural connection.
“Jägermeister stands for the best nights out. ChargedUp gives the smartphones an extra boost of energy so that people can have even more fun!”
