Founder of Durham tech firm launches app to boost home working productivity
The entrepreneur behind a Durham-based tech startup has launched a new app designed to boost productivity for remote workers.
Durham University graduate Liam Gill, founder of Fumarii Technologies, has launched Swiff in order to support those working from home during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The app, which allows users to create a to-do list every morning before timing both their work and break times, splitting them into 25 minute work periods and 5 minute break periods.
Liam explained: “From my experience working in this industry, I believe that the mental health impacts of the current situation on remote workers are being heavily understated.
“As we enter the third week of remote work people need to seriously look into finding ways to balance their home and work obligations without the physical separation that comes from working in an office.
“The Swiff app is completely free to download and we don’t track any data or have any embedded advertisements. It is my hope that this will help all those working at home for the first time and help curb the potentially devastating mental health repercussions the current situation may have on our workforce.”
