3.7 acre Wakefield employment development site comes to market
A development site in West Yorkshire has been brought to the market by property specialist Avison Young.
The agent, acting on behalf of Flanshaw Property Ltd, has brought the 3.7 acre site at Centric 40 in Wakefield to market.
Marketing of the rear plot by Avison Young follows recent completion of the sale of the front plots to Frank Marshall Estates.
Outline planning consent has previously been obtained for B1c, B2 and B8 use, with Wakefield Council keen to see the site brought forward for employment development.
Rob Oliver of Avison Young commented: “We have continued to experience strong demand for premises on the M1 corridor between Wakefield and Ossett, and have received several expressions of interest already from both developers and occupiers, keen to discuss a potential purchase of this site.
“Given the shape and nature of the plot, there is some flexibility in how it could be used and developed, from smaller units, a pair of detached mid-size buildings, through to a single occupier.
“The wider estate is seeing continued investment, with Sewtec recently relocating and expanding into a 75,000 sq ft factory on the estate, and PLP acquiring the remainder of Silkwood Park for a proposed large-scale speculative development.”
