£14m Barnsley residential development to create 85 new jobs
A Northern developer has acquired a 4.46 acre site in Barnsley for a new multi-million pound residential project.
Avant Homes has completed the purchase of the site on Lidget Lane in Pilley after securing permission for a new £14m development from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
The developer is set to deliver 49 new homes at the St. Paul’s Bank site, comprising a range of two, three, four and five- bedroom properties.
The build is expected to take around 18 months, and will create more than 85 jobs across construction and sales.
Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director, Chris Coley, commented: “We’re very pleased to have completed the purchase of the land at St Paul’s Bank after planning was granted for the site earlier this year.
“The development will offer a wide range of homes and, combined with its location close to the village of Pilley, with fantastic commuter links to Barnsley, Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield, it makes it a highly attractive location for a variety of buyers.
“Since sales and construction resumed across all our developments in June we’ve seen a significant surge in enquiries from prospective buyers. This has also been buoyed by the increase in the stamp duty threshold making it a great time to buy a new home.
“We expect St. Paul’s Bank to be hugely popular and look forward to getting works underway.”
