Bronwyn Wheeler, Max Wayman and Joseph Young, Clarion

Clarion has appointed Bronwyn Wheeler, Max Wayman and Joseph Young as solicitors following their qualification.

Bronwyn has joined the family team and Max has qualified into the employment team. Joseph is set to qualify into the business restructuring and insolvency team from December 1.

Bronwyn completed a Law LLB from the University of York before going on to BPP Law School in Leeds for her legal practice course.

Max has an LLB Law from University of Hull and studied international and european law at University of Utrecht in the Netherlands, before undertaking a legal practice course and MSc in law, business and management at the University of Law in Leeds, and then working for Clarion as a paralegal for two years.

After completing a Law LLB at Edge Hill University, Joseph undertook a Legal Practice LLM at BPP University.

Shaun Davison, Garbutt + Elliott Wealth Management

Wealth management firm Garbutt + Elliott Wealth Management has appointed Shaun Davison as financial planner.

With 13 years of experience in the industry, Shaun joins the firm from Cowgills Wealth where he was a financial planning director, with specialist knowledge in a range of areas including pensions, investments, protection, and tax planning.

Prior to this, Shaun worked as an independent financial advisor at Barlow Barton IFA, Horbury Financial Services and started his career at Abbey (now Santander).

Shaun will work closely with the firm’s team of financial planners to provide an integrated wealth management service to enable clients to organise their financial affairs and have an investment strategy tailored to their objectives.

Kirsty Foster-Jennings, Cognito

Technology and learning specialist Cognito has appointed Kirsty Foster-Jennings as strategy director.

Kirsty brings a range of experience to Cognito, with previous roles at a leading learning provider as well as time at an organisation that develops leadership courses for directors working in children’s services.

In her new role, Kirsty will oversee and formalise company processes and support structures. She will also work with Cognito’s team to successfully integrate new clients and help shape the business moving forward.

Alastair James, Thomas Jagger, Eve Sellens, Holly Dale and Nicole Natur, Ramsdens

Ramsdens has appointed Alastair James and Thomas Jagger, Eve Sellens, Holly Dale and Nicole Natur as newly qualified (NQ) solicitors.

Alastair James and Thomas Jagger will be part of the firm’s private client team in Halifax, Eve and Holly will join the company’s commercial property arm Huddersfield, and Nicole will work in the employment division at Huddersfield.

Commenting on her appointment, Nicole said: “I am very proud and looking forward to progressing my career and enhancing my skills with Ramsdens. I’d also like to thank the trainee team for being so hugely supportive throughout the last two years.”

Caroline Ackroyd, Jaywing

Data specialist marketing agency Jaywing has appointed Caroline Ackroyd as chief financial officer.

Formerly CFO at Push Doctor, a provider of online GP services, Caroline holds a range of experience in technology-based companies. She has also held senior finance positions at Sky Betting & Gaming and Coral Interactive.

Caroline will sit on the board leading the business’ finances, reporting directly to chief executive officer Andrew Fryatt.

Caroline commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining a company that’s so well respected in the industry.

Law firm Schofield Sweeney has appointed Kanika Sohpal as a partner in its private wealth and succession team.

Kanika Sohpal returns to Schofield Sweeney, having spent three years at Clarion. Her specialist knowledge is in wealth protection and succession planning, with a particular focus on acting for business owners and high net worth individuals in order to protect a client’s wealth for them and their family.

Kanika’s knowledge also extends to dealing with the administration of high value and complex estates, particularly those with foreign assets and cross border issues.
